Okay, so I watched the "Story of Stuff." right up to the point where the narrator states "It's a linear system and we live on a finite planet." And that's why it's a system in crisis? What a dolt!
This is what I found with so many in my progressive friends. They think that wealth is finite. How untrue that is. The creation of wealth does not have to be done with raping the resources of a finite planet. But better managing them, and better utilizing those resources. Not to mention discovering new "renewable" resources.
One of the great resources that progressives fail to account for is the human brain. Education is critical for the creation of wealth. Our government has so polluted the education system in the United States that the creation of wealth is in dire trouble. It is the difference between teaching people how to fish or just giving someone a fish. Our federal government has adopted a program of giving people fish. When a person is used to being given a fish. They see their resources as being finite. If a person is a good fisherman they can sustain themselves. Given, of course, that they are good stewards of the land, and that is exactly what we are called to do in the first few chapters of Genesis.
So now I've offended all my progressive friends.
I've mentioned the dumbing down of the United States education system. Shame on me! "But don't you understand that these kids have problems and must be helped to get their A's and B's.". Personally I think the progressive view of handing out A's and B's to children who do not earn them is like giving somebody a fish. Teach them to earn their A's and B's and it is like teaching them how to fish. It is a blatantly racist and typically Democratic view of education to treats children thusly.
I've mentioned the Bible , that should offend a lot of progressives because they feel that the Bible is a document of hate. Heck, 99.999% of them haven't even read the Bible. All they read is what other people who hate the Bible say about the Bible.
I've mentioned raping the earth of its resources that ought to offend many progressives. No, I've talked about being a "good steward" of the Earth's resources. That is different!
I've mentioned wealth. Wealth is obscene to the Democrats who seem to love to bathe in it, but hate it when other people have it.
I've mentioned teaching people how to fend for themselves. That is offensive to Democrats and progressives. Teaching people to fend for themselves is a horror to Democrats and progressives because a person who can take care of their self has no need for Democrats and progressives!
Enough said!
